SINAR Mas Land, one of the largest property developers in Indonesia has joined forces with enterprise software solutions provider PT Walden Global Services (WGS), and game centre company PT Digital Creative Indonesia to launch WGS Hub and GeeksFarm.
WGS Hub is WGS’ first physical retail location in Indonesia. It aims to solve the difficulties businesses face in sourcing for app developers, partnerships in digital startups, and quality software.
“WGS Hub is a proper software house. If you need IT solutions and innovation, you can come to WGS Hub,” said WGS chairman and founder Ikin Wirawan in a statement.
WGS Hub and GeeksFarm also offer accelerator programmes for startups, programming training for children aged between eight and 15, a two-month startup school initiative, recruitment of in-house programmers, programming services, website design, e-commerce, app development, as well as software based on the cloud.
WGS Hub plans to spread its wings beyond its current location in Tangerang, Banten to other cities in Indonesia including Surabaya, Semarang, and Medan.
“We plan to replicate WGS Hub in many locations both in Indonesia and overseas, so we are not only speeding up the expansion of IT businesses in Indonesia, but also helping to create job opportunities and escalate Indonesia’s IT export ability,” Ikin explained.
This collaboration is part of Sinar Mas Land’s ‘Digital Hub’ project, which sits on 25.86ha in BSD City, Tangerang, Banten.
“BSD City is transforming into an integrated smart digital city. One of our projects is Digital Hub, a space for digital technology players including startups, technology leaders and digital communities. Digital Hub was also created for science, technology, engineering, and math researchers as well as innovators in smart systems and technology,” said Sinar Mas Land managing director president office Dhony Rahajoe.
“We realised that development of the IT industry in Indonesia needed accessible education infrastructure. In future, GeeksFarm will become a talent pool of young app developers and IT advancement in Indonesia that will contribute to the growth of Digital Hub in BSD City,” Dhony concluded.
